Just don't expect miracles from it. I was using it in a motor home, and replaced it with a Wilson cellular amplifier and roof antenna, which made a huge difference. Other times it doesn't make much difference at all. This thing does help a little in certain areas. This ARC cellular antenna does about what you'd expect a cheap plastic antenna to do. I have experienced a reception improvement of about "one bar" with it in some fringe areas. Now I keep this antenna in my travel bag and use it with my air card for wireless data when I'm staying in a fringe area and not using the motor home.
Watch your shipping price with these guys: They charged me $35 for shipping, I contacted them about it and the charge was quickly dropped to $5. After two months I went from an intermittent antenna on my signal to TWO BARS. Ordered a new antenna plug, then had to order an adapter. You can't get better results for the price, it works better than the $300 setup we had. FINALLY got the connectors for this. The antenna plugs it came with didn't fit my phone (Kyocera K edition), though the product description said it did. I'm thrilled.
bucks, we can get and receive clear calls. This antenna, when placed by a window and plugged in to the phone gives us 4 bars. We had about half a bar. The cord is only about 4 feet long, so you have to be within 4 feet of the window, but it works great and for under [.]. We live in a fringe cellphone area. Our phones would ring and take messages, but we couldn't answer or make calls. You have to make sure to get the right adapter and figure out where the antenna jack is on your phone.

It's no world beater, but worth the 40 dollars when considering most alternatives cost hundreds of dollars and don't appear to be providing much better results (according to many reviews I've read on Amazon and elsewhere).PRO:-Cheap, in comparison to most alternatives-More portable; again, than most alternatives. I'm assuming most Express/PCMCIA/USB data cards will require a cable adapter. -Communicating with the mothership, are we.
I know it can be purchased from Verizon's website, but I got it elsewhere for a little cheaper. It seems I consistently get an extra bar or two when using this with my Verizon Wireless Novatel V740 Express card on my MacBook Pro. It's flat and light.-Requires no external power sourceCON:-I'm nitpicking, here, but it's a tad bulky, and a bit of an eyesore. -Are you stealing/sniffing Wifi.
I use it in my office to boost reception. Adds at least 1 bar more reception to my Verizon 3g broadband usb card. Worth the money for me.
